NEW YORK, Oct. 19, 2015 – NTVB Media, Inc., has acquired events company AMPitLIVE and merged it with the TV Guide Magazine and TV Insider operations (TVGM). AMPitLIVE founder and CEO Paul J. Turcotte will join TVGM as Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer. He will report to NTVB Media President and CEO Andy DeAngelis and split his time between the company’s New York and Los Angeles offices.
The acquisition comes less than two weeks after NTVB Media, owner of TV Weekly and leading cable and satellite television publications, acquired TVGM. With the addition of AMPitLIVE, NTVB Media and TVGM now offer print, digital, and social media products, as well as events and sponsorships.
“AMPitLive is an exciting and impactful addition to the TVGM and NTVB combined portfolio, and it will enable us to further build on our position as the most powerful and effective way for advertisers to reach TV viewers,” DeAngelis said. “I’m very glad to have Paul Turcotte on board. I am confident we will make this new package of leading media brands a success for our clients – and everyone at TVGM and NTVB.”
AMPitLIVE conceives and produces major events, primarily in the entertainment industry, that provide valuable content for media properties and positive exposure for brands. In partnership with TVGM, AMPitLIVE conceived and developed the Television Industry Advocacy Awards to benefit The Creative Coalition, a highly successful event that generated nearly 200 million media impressions.
“When we acquired TVGM, we became the largest group of consumer television publications in the U.S.,” said DeAngelis. “We said then we would continue to build, and now we have not only added an outstanding events company to our portfolio but also a stellar sales professional in Paul Turcotte. We are thrilled that such an outstanding executive with a proven record of success is joining our team.”
Before starting AMPitLIVE, Turcotte was president and publisher of The Daily Front Row Inc., publisher of AM New York, and senior vice president-advertising sales director at Sirius XM Radio. He previously held senior positions at Hachette-Filipacchi Media, U.S., Men’s Health Properties, and Yahoo! Internet Life Magazine.
Turcotte said, “I couldn’t be more pleased to join Andy and his talented and creative team. Together, they provide TV viewers with extremely valuable guidance and have a clear vision of how they will continue bringing greater value to advertisers and programmers. I am very excited to be taking this powerful offering out to the field.”
